Introduction to the Allegheny County
Orphans' Court Rules
This section of the web site contains the Allegheny County Orphans' Court
Rules..
This HTML version of the Allegheny County Orphans' Court Rules is based on
the Dec. 6, 2000 Order of the Allegheny County Board of Judges. This order
rescinded the rules in effect prior to that date and adopted the rules that
follow. These rules took effect 30 days after their publication in the Pennsylvania
Bulletin.
The version of the rules on this web site is based on a version presented by
the Allegheny County Bar Association, Probate & Trust Law Section, on Feb.
12, 2001, in Pittsburgh.
This version incorporates an updated Rule 14 (after the Feb. 12, 2001
version),
along with the appendices to that rule.
For ease of navigation, links are present between rules, sections,
appendices and
cross-references to sections of PA Title 20, the Probate, Estates &
Fiduciaries Code.
Also, a separate key word search feature is provided for the rules. The search function will
locate words by rule or by web page since each rule is one web
page.
When you access a page, you can locate the key word on a particular page, by
using the "Find" function in your browser. This will highlight the word in
that chapter (on that web page). In both Microsoft Internet Explorer and
Netscape Navigator, the
"Find" feature is under the "Edit" function in the menu bar.
To access this search feature, click on the corresponding hyperlink above.
